La relación entre el Estado chileno y el pueblo mapuche es determinada luau thank you cards por el poder, y es precisamente dicho poder – detentado por el Estado y toda su institucionalidad – el que da forma a una relación histórica asimétrica caracterizada por la dominación y la resistencia: dos caras de la misma moneda.En las últimas tres décadas, el modelo de desarrollo neoliberal dominante ha acentuado la exclusión, la discriminación y la marginalización del pueblo mapuche.Asimismo, la “democracia” actual ha recurrido a legislación de la época dictatorial para reprimir y criminalizar al nuevo movimiento mapuche que reivindica sus derechos colectivos como pueblo.Dicho movimiento plantea la reconstrucción del Mundo y País Mapuche donde el componente identitario posee una clara centralidad, no solo de afirmación individual y colectiva, sino que también política.Es en este marco que intentaremos explorar la relación entre identidad mapuche y política.
Para ello se hace necesario examinar algunos elementos contextuales, así como también conceptuales, que puedan contribuir a entender la situación actual del movimiento mapuche y, particularmente, el componente identitario de sus demandas.Desde allí, podemos abordar la relación histórica entre el Estado chileno y el pueblo mapuche y, finalmente, el movimiento mapuche y la identidad.

ABSTRACT:
The relationship between the Chilean State and the Mapuche People is determined by power and it is precisely this power – held by the State and all its institutions – which has shaped a historically here asymmetrical relationship, characterised by domination and resistance: two sides of the same coin.In the last three decades, the neoliberal model of development has accentuated the exclusion, discrimination and marginalization of the Mapuche people.Also, the current “democratic” governments have resorted to legislation from the dictatorship era to repress the new Mapuche Movement that is fighting for its collective rights as a people.
The Movement fights for the reconstruction of the Mapuche World and Country where the identity component plays a crucial role, not only as individual or collective assertiveness, but also political.It is within this general context that we will explore the relationship between Mapuche identity and politics; in order to do this it becomes necessary to analyse a few contextual as well as conceptual elements that might help us to understand the new Mapuche Movement and the identity component of its demands.From here we can then approach the historical relationship between the Chilean State and the Mapuche People and, finally, the Mapuche Movement and identity.
